2018 Colors of the Year

Happy New Year! CW Interiors knows how the world of interior design is always changing, especially the color trends. 2017 was all about greenery, warm neutrals, and caramel accents, and 2018 is shaping up to be much edgier! We’ve done some digging and here are the colors to look out for in the new year:

Colors of the Year

Dainty Blushes

It seems like every paint and color company under the sun has come out with a “Color of the Year,” and Graham & Brown is no different. Their color pick for 2018 is a dusty shade of pink called Penelope. Graham & Brown’s Penelope was inspired by a Greek goddess of the same name. Like the goddess Peanelope, this beautiful blush is uncomplicated, sophisticated, and perfect for the spacious rooms of your home.

Bold Reds

Taking inspiration from grand events such as red carpet premieres, Benjamin Moore chose the vibrant, deep Caliente AF-290 as their 2018 Color of the Year. This rich and fiery red is designed specifically to make a statement!. Caliente AF-290 is radiant and sure to energize any room you choose to display it in.

Enigmatic Purples

Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2018 is Ultra Violet, a rich shade of purple that’s sure to add depth to any space. Ultra Violet represents mystery, intrigue, and innovation. Whether you choose to utilize this blue-based purple as a base or accent color, Ultra Violet will both inspire and evoke the feeling of looking towards the future.

Relaxing Blues

2018 is a big a year for Behr with their first ever Color of the Year: In The Moment T18-15. Behr is hopping on board the cultural shift from tech-immersed to tech-free living spaces. In The Moment T18-15 creates an atmosphere where you can find some actual relief and relaxation from unplugging. This casual blue will help you feel at peace in whatever room you use it in, making it the perfect shade for that room you use to escape the chaos of life.

The “New Neutrals”

Back in Black

Although the 2018 color-scheme is looking edgier, there’s no denying that sleek blacks are still on trend. Trendir is saying black should be treated as neutral in the new year, which makes perfect sense to us. After all, black goes with everything! It serves as the perfect complimentary color for practically any color scheme or palette. If you’re looking to add a dramatic flair to your living space in 2018, black is your color.

Gold is the new White Marble

Pantone is calling it: metallics as dramatic colors are out and metallics as neutrals are in. You can give your ceiling or walls a metallic inlay or place gold accessories throughout a room. However you choose to integrate metallics into your living space, they’ll be sure to draw anyone’s eye.
